Epiphany was co-founded by Micheal Flaherty, the co-founder and President of Walden Media, and Valerie McGowan, Flaherty's colleague at Walden. Since Walden's founding in 1999, Flaherty served as President for more than 15 years. During that time, Walden developed, produced, and financed nearly two dozen movies that grossed over $3 billion at the global box office, including The Chronicles of Narnia, Bridge to Terabithia, Holes, The Giver, Charlotte's Web, and Amazing Grace. Since then, he has served as an Executive Producer on The Little Prince which won the 2017 BAFTA Award and the star-studded Mother's Day.
Valerie and Micheal advocate for a wide range of stories featuring characters who change their worlds by acting courageously, thinking independently, and speaking fearlessly. They also create grassroots marketing strategies and campaigns to leverage the power of a visual story for maximum societal benefit. Check out our “Projects” page for more information on how we do this.
